Acetyl decapeptide-3 is a synthetic peptide (known under the trade name CG-Rejuline) that repeats the part of the sequence (Ac-tyr-arg-ser-arg-lys-tyr-thr-ser-trp-tyr-NH2; YRSRKYTSWY) of bFGF – Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor (or Fibroblast growth factor 2; FGF-β) protein and mimics its function.
bFGF is normally involved in skin development, wound healing, and regeneration boosting fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and keratinocytes growth and proliferation.
Besides skin cell proliferation and renewal, Acetyl decapeptide-3 increases the expression levels of extracellular matrix proteins such as collagen, fibronectin, and laminin. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improves elasticity, and makes skin firmer and supple.
During clinical tests, Acetyl decapeptide-3 exhibited more stability and prolonged action in comparison with naive bFGF. In addition to anti-aging and anti-wrinkle action, CG-Rejuline also promotes hair growth strengthening follicles and boosting new cells development.
