Short Description
Valerian is a hardy perennial flowering plant with fragrant pink or white flowers. It is generally considered to have medicinal value, despite its strong odor. The stems and roots of valerian are used medicinally. They can expel wind, relieve spasm and treat trauma. Its stems and leaves are fed by larvae of some lepidopteran insects (butterflies and moths).
