Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride (Guar Gum) is a cationic surfactant, it is soluble in cold water and hot water, but insoluble in oil, grease, hydrocarbon, ketone and ester. The aqueous solution is tasteless, odorless, non-toxic and neutral. Because the solution contains a small amount of fiber and cellulose, it is light gray and translucent.
It also exhibits high viscosity in water. The change in viscosity depends on the particle size, pH and temperature. It is compatible with other vegetable gums, starches and water-soluble proteins. Used as thickener, flocculant, flotation agent, film-forming agent and sizing agent, etc.
